Will I be Fit Enough?

The Ascend program is open to anyone, and no previous experience in outdoor recreation is required. However, to get the most out of your experience you are encouraged to maintain a good level of physical fitness prior to the start of the program.

Life Skills

This 3 month program includes a variety of activities both indoor and outdoor. The majority of the out trips happen during September and October when the weather is most accommodating. The outdoor activities and out trips will be interspersed with days for rest, clean up and reflection. In November there is a more significant focus on biblical academic teaching, due to more frequent weather restrictions. There is no ‘typical day’ in Ascend but throughout the program you will experience:

This camp is for those who love exploring the outdoors. Each day will be spent hiking through some of the most beautiful and wild mountains in the world. Along the way you will learn about wilderness navigation, leave no trace camping, and back country survival skills. Sleeping in tents at a different campsite each night, this is the true wilderness experience.

Come out and kick-off your climbing season in style, with a weekend on the rock in the David Thompson Corridor! This weekend is designed for climbers of all skill levels to get tuned up for a great summer of climbing in the Rockies. Beginners will be taught the basics, while intermediate and advanced climbers will be pushed to new levels on more challenging routes. We will try to spend as much time on the rock as possible, with our knowledgable staff always on hand with tips and pointers.
